164 More Govt Colleges To Launch Affordable 4-Year BS Programs

The Sindh government has taken an important step to improve higher education by launching four-year Bachelor of Studies (BS) programs in 164 more government colleges across the province. Affordable BS Programs For Local Students

Under this new plan, students will be able to enroll in BS programs in Science, Commerce, Arts, and Computer Science at nearby public colleges. These programs will have low fees, making higher education more accessible for middle- and low-income families. Students will no longer need to relocate or bear heavy expenses to get a university-level degree.

University Affiliation Process Explained

To ensure quality education, the Sindh Colleges Department is affiliating selected government colleges with public sector universities. Out of 376 government colleges in Sindh, 164 colleges have already applied for university affiliation. This affiliation allows colleges to offer officially recognized BS degrees under the supervision of universities.

Current Progress And Official Statement

Sindh Secretary for Colleges Nadeem ur Rehman shared that 55 government colleges are already offering BS programs. In addition, five more colleges in Karachi received affiliation this year, bringing the total to 60 colleges. He also confirmed that approvals for BS programs in another 159 colleges are expected soon, as the affiliation process with more universities is underway.
