The Class 8 board examinations in government schools across Punjab are set to resume in the second week of March. Introduction of the Computerized Marking System
For the first time, authorities will use a computerized marking system to check answer sheets. This modern approach is expected to:

Duties Of Teachers And Examination Staff
To maintain discipline and smooth conduct, clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been issued. Responsibilities are divided as follows:
- School heads will act as resident inspectors
- Senior teachers will perform duties as superintendents
- Primary and elementary teachers will serve as test administrators
Staff for each examination center will be selected through an online system, ensuring transparency and merit-based deployment.
Internal Exams for the Remaining Subjects
While the board will examine four core subjects, schools will conduct assessments for the remaining subjects internally. This balanced approach allows schools to maintain flexibility while ensuring that key academic areas are evaluated at the provincial level.

The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 1.6 billion to successfully organize these examinations. This funding covers arrangements, monitoring systems, training, and technological support for computerized marking.
